These make such cute decorations, no matter how you decide to use them. They are super simple to make. They usually come in bulk, so you can use them in various projects. You don’t need a Cricut machine or to be super crafty; all you need are the ornaments and letter stickers or Valentine’s Day image stickers!
Ways to use

- String them with twine or string and hang them up like a banner or garland.
- Fill a vase or a jar to leave on the table as a centrepiece or on a mantel.
- Name tag on a Valentine’s gift.
- If you are having a wedding around Valentine’s Day, you can use them as a name holder.
- Grab a vase and some branches and hang the hearts from the branches, creating a centrepiece for a table or a decoration around the house.
- Hang them from a light tree.

- Twine or string to hang

How to create
Creating the wording
There are several ways to create the wording. You can either buy it from a source like Design Bundles or create your own.

- Open Cricut Design Space and make sure the machine is on.
- Go to "shapes", select the heart and then adjust it to the size of the heart ornament. This isn’t necessary, but I find it helps to adjust the size and the position of the wording.
- Add a text box and type in the wording, for example, “be mine” or “love you”. I used conversation hearts as the inspiration for the lettering.
- Move the textbox over the heart shape. To help with placement and sizing.
- Keep the wording selected, pick the font you want to work with and adjust the size and positioning as needed.
- Repeat for other wording or images.
Cutting the wording
- Turn on the Cricut machine and ensure the premium fine point blade or the blade needed is loaded.
- Place vinyl onto the mat or mats, depending on the number of colours you're working with.
- Run a brayer or something over the vinyl and mat to help adhere it if needed.
- Go to “Make” when you are ready to cut.
- Pick the mat option that best suits your needs and click "confirm".
- Set the material to either vinyl, washi or whatever setting you use for cutting smaller images.
- Load the mat into the machine when prompted by the "arrow" when it starts flashing.
- Click the flashing “C” when it starts.
- Repeat as needed.
Removing & weeding wording
- Unload the machine when prompted; the "arrow" will be flashing again.
- Flip the mat over and pull it off the vinyl. This helps keep the vinyl from curling.
- Repeat as needed for each image or wording.
- Take the weeding tool and remove all the unwanted vinyl. Keep scissors nearby just in case there is a piece you want to cut away.
- Repeat as needed for each image.
Applying the wording
- Cut the transfer tape to the size you want to work with.
- Apply the transfer tape to the wording, flip it over and use the scraper to help adhere the tape to the vinyl.
- Pull the backing off, leaving the vinyl on the transfer tape.
- Put the ornament on the cup cradle or whatever you are using to help hold it in place.
- Place the wording on the ornament. Take the scraper and run it over the wording to help adhere it to the ornament.
- Gently remove the transfer tape. Some coating may come off; it hasn't happened to me, but others have had it happen.
- Run your finger over the vinyl to smooth it out once the tape is off.
- Repeat for as many as you have.
String them, put them in a vase or leave them out individually, whatever works best for your decoration plans!
