Untamed is a memoir by Glennon Doyle. It talks about her divorce and how she found true love again. And how she over came her fear of not conforming to the roles that society set and felt she had to fit as a women and a mother.
I was looking forward to reading this book and really wanted to like it more. Untamed got good reviews and it was on people's must read lists. So it became a part of the I should read soon list. Because it is so popular I had a hard time finding the book used but eventually I found it on Kijiji.
The memoir by was okay. I have read better. Mainly I think it had a lot to do with the writing style for me. It took me longer than I thought to read since it was a book I really wanted to read it. The message the Doyle is trying to send to everyone is great. She wants you to be you and not to conform to what the world tells you have to be. Which is one of the best and most important messages anyone can share when you have the platform to do so.
I did enjoy how the author goes in depth on how and when she realized who she is. And the steps she took to make sure she was being true to herself.
I give the book 3 out of 5.
I hope this review helped you decide if this book is for you.
