Love letter sticker on the sticker sheet.
Love letter sticker on the sticker sheet.

These are such a cute sticker and they can be used for more than just Valentine’s Day. These could be a cute way to close an actual letter or note you are mailing off to a loved one. Make them tiny and use them as a reminder you have plans with a loved one. Or just to fill on an area of your planner you don’t know what to do with.

There are so many options to customize these little love letters for a loved one. They can be their favourite colour, have their name, and any image they may like. It can be an open or closed letter.

Experiment with different ideas and see what makes it feel right. I make so many different options and play with images colours, sizes, different shapes and letter or envelope shapes. Sometimes I end up with more ideas than I thought I would. Remember to play and have as much as you want with it!

How to create

Creating the sticker in Canva

What the sticker looks like in Cricut Design Space.
  1. Open a blank canvas I usually work with a 6in by 6in blank page.
  2. Go to "elements" or "shapes" and add a rectangle, and 4 lines, 2 thick and 2 thin.
  3. Move the 2 thicker lines on the diagonal at the top and do the same with 2 thinner but at the bottom.
  4. Go to “elements” and search for an envelope, I try to make sure that it is a filled image and that I can change the colour.
  5. Go to “elements” and search for “love” or a word you want.
  6. Go to “elements” and search for a heart you want to use for the sticker that holds the envelope closed.
  7. Adjust the sizes and the colours until you are happy.
  8. Group the images together once you have everything the way you want it.
  9. If possible save the image with a transparent background (pro version).

Adding the offset

  1. Open and upload the love letter image to Design Space.
  2. Make sure the image is uploaded as a print and cut.
  3. Once the image is in Design Space add it to the Canvas.
  4. Adjust the size if needed.
  5. Go to “offset” at the top and move the slider left or right depending on if you want it to be thin or thick.
  6. Once you have the size select both and group the two images together.
  7. Change the colour of the offset to white or the desired colour.
  8. Select the image and then go to “flatten” at the bottom right. The whole image should now say print and cut.
  9. Resize the image and duplicate the image as many times as needed.

Printing and adding the overlay

  1. Turn on the printer and Cricut.
  2. Place the sticker paper into the printer.
  3. Go to “make” and a screen will pop up with how the images are placed; then click “continue”
  4. Choose the “for any material” mat option and then click continue
  5. Next screen, click “send to printer”.
  6. The print screen will pop up and ensure the bleed option is on, and click “print.”
  7. Let the ink and paper dry if needed.
  8. Place the overlay on top of the printed sheet smooth out any bubbles and take your time. I use a scraper or a plastic ruler to help smooth it out as I lay it down.

If there are bubbles and I am using these stickers for myself I pop them with a pin or the weeding tool.

Cutting and removing

The stickers before putting them in the machine to cut.
  1. Place the printed sheet on the mat, then run the brayer over the sheet to adhere it to the mat.
  2. Set material to the “printable vinyl”; this will not cut all the through you peel them off like a sticker sheet. If you want to cut through set to “foil kraft board holographic”
  3. Load the mat into the machine when the “arrow” starts flashing.
  4. Click the “C” when it starts flashing.
  5. Unload the machine when prompted, the “arrow” will start flashing.
  6. Flip the mat over and peel the mat off the stickers. If some don’t come off right use your spatula or scraper to help peel them off.

You now have cute Valentine's Day stickers to use to your hearts desires!
