Candles are a ton of fun to make, can make the room smell amazing, and give the room a nice decorative touch in the right container.
I have bought most of the containers I use from a thrift store or antique store. This is a good way to save money if you need to buy in bulk. I needed a bunch of teacups for a bridal shower, so I found the majority of the teacups at a thrift store and didn’t break my budget. Getting from these places helps to upcycle pieces and give them a new home and purpose. I did get some teacups that had chips in them, and they still worked.
You can find some of the other options on Amazon, Michaels, and Dollar Store from online vendors that specialize in candles or items around your home. If you aren’t sure if it will work, you can test similar options or ask in craft groups if they have tried something similar.
Below are some of the items I have used or have seen used and are on my list to try out. There are more ideas out there too. If none of these sounds interesting for you I suggest checking out Pinterest for more inspiration.
Teacups
My favourite candle-making container is using teacups. They turn out super cute and fun and you get a teacup for tea or a new piece for your teacup collection. I sold them for a while, and they were a hit at my craft shows.
These make a great birthday gift, a thank-you gift, or a decoration for a tea party. Turning them into candles is a great way to upcycle old teacups you aren’t sure what to do with. Click the picture or the link underneath to make your teacup candles.

Remember when making the candle: If you are making bigger candles, make sure the glass is thicker or heat resistant; it needs to be able to take the hot wax so it doesn’t crack or shatter. Unfortunately, some of these will crack or shatter or just won’t work out. There are all kinds of resources for tips and tricks to working with these options. It is always at your own risk, and test your vessels.
